About Us

Over a cup of coffee at the Zinc Cafe, the Laguna Community Concert Band was formed when flutist Theresa Marino, conductor Dr. Bill Nicholls and Laguna Beach Commission member, musician and recent recipient of the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts award by the Laguna Beach Alliance for the Arts, Carol Reynolds, joined forces. Dr. Nicholls wanted to create a fine wind ensemble, Marino wanted to play again with good memories of playing with her dad and brother in the community band setting. Reynolds was a retired choral teacher, ready to bring out her french horn and start playing again. Although originally sponsored by the Laguna Beasch City Recreation Department, it is now a part of the Irvine Valley College Emeritus program. Approaching their 20th anniversary, the band has performed at many city functions, including the Festival of Arts and the Sawdust Festival.

The Laguna Community Concert Band is a 501c3 non profit organization with a Board of Directors. The LCCB has received grants from the City of Laguna Beach Community Assistance Grant, City of Laguna Beach Business Improvement District Grant, & The Festival of Arts Foundation, along with personal donations and In Kind Donations.

The LCCB is under the direction of Mark Lowery and Pete Fournier.
