Open For Construction

Open for construction workshop to discuss existing businesses and Americans with disabilities act (ADA).
The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce and the city of Laguna Beach Building Division will be hosting  a workshop and training session on "Existing businesses and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
Business owners, commercial business owners, contractors, architects and residents are invited to attend.  This will be a 1 1/2 hour presentation designed to help you understand and navigate through the barrier removal process for existing buildings.
There are many businesses and/or property owners who feel they are exempt, grandfathered, or, do not believe they have disabled customers.  If you or your business provide public accommodations, goods or services to the public, or have a business that affects commerce, then the ADA applies to you.  Under the federal ADA, there is no "grandfather" clause.
